Revival at Hillcrest

PRAY FOR OUR REVIVAL SERVICES NOVEMBER 13-15!

Please pray for our upcoming Revival Services November 13-15. Lonnie Riley, CEO of Meridzo Center, Inc. in Lynch, Kentucky will be sharing what God is doing in Lynch and helping us to see how God is at work in our lives and the life of Hillcrest Baptist Church. Our Revival Services will begin on Sunday morning NOVEMBER 13 during the regular worship time. We will have a pot luck lunch following the morning worship service. Then we will have evening Revival services at 6:00 p.m. Sunday night November 13 through Tuesday night November 15. We will have special music each evening. God has truly been moving in this church. Let’s be open and surrendered to what He wants to do through the Hillcrest Baptist Church in the future.

Special Prayer Request for Haiti Mission Trip

I have a special prayer request for our Haiti trip, October 9-15. Everything is ready to go, and they are excited about our coming. But we need to pray that the rain would stop during the week we are in Port Au Prince so that much can be accomplished as we begin construction of the orphanage. We’ve also had a wonderful outreach opportunity that has developed with the children around the worksite, and at Pastor Edmond’s church. Please pray that souls would be brought to the Kingdom.

Open Doors

"For a great and effective door has opened to me, and there are many adversaries." 1 Cor. 16:9

When God opens a door for a great work for Him, He may also let in adversaries. That’s really what life was like for the great Apostle Paul. It seems everywhere Paul went trouble went with Him. But in the midst of difficulty Paul was able to be the primary witness that spread the Gospel to the known world in His day. In fact God gave him the specific task of taking the message of Christ to the Gentiles. Paul based his decisions, not on the opposition he faced, but rather on the what God asked him to do. We need to pray that God would give us the strength to follow Christ’s leading rather than our own emotions or self-imposed fears.

Hillcrest to Haiti

When I went to Haiti last year, October 2-9, 2010, I kept a journal of my experiences there. Here are a few of the entries:

10/2/10, on the plane from Dallas to Miami heading for Port Au Prince, I wrote: "Lord, I ask you to show me Your heart. Please give me a heart for these people. Let me see them as You see them. Lord, give me a passion for lost people. Help me to be bold as I share. Show me the way I should go. I continue to call out for revival at Hillcrest. Let the renewal continue. Give our church a new heart for missions, and let it begin with me."
