The Bible is God’s word to all humanity. It was written by human authors under the divine guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is true from cover to cover and authoritative for Christian living.
Man is made in the image of God. He is the supreme object of God’s Creation. Man, however, disobeyed God and is sinful and in need of redemption from God. All men and women are sinners and in need of a savior.
God eternally exists in three persons; The Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit. (The Trinity)Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He was born of a virgin. He lived a sinless human life and was crucified as a sacrifice for the sins of man. He rose from the dead (Resurrection) on the third day and overcame death. He reigns eternally as the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. The Holy Spirit is present to convict men of sins, teach them the truth of Jesus Christ and to provide power for living by faith, understanding truth. He is a counselor that gives guidance and direction for humanity. The Holy Spirit is present in a person's life immediately after salvation.
Men and Women are saved by grace through faith. Salvation is a work of God through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ and is a gift from God. Man cannot do anything to save himself. Receiving Christ as Savior and Lord, men and women must repent of their sins, believe in Jesus Christ and confess their relationship with Him.
Baptism is an outward expression of an inward salvation. It is an act of obedience to God, following Christ’s example. It is a picture of the death burial and resurrection of our Lord. We baptize by immersion. Baptism is an outward profession of our faith in Christ.
Our worship services are a mix of music and style. Our aim in worship is to give God praise above all. We use contemporary music as well as hymns from the past.
Our services last approximately an hour and contain music, preaching, and prayer. We celebrate the Lord's Supper the first Sunday of every month. You do not need to be a member of Hillcrest to participate in the Lord's Supper. We only ask that you be a Christian.
You should wear whatever makes you feel comfortable. We have people that wear suits and dresses and people that wear jeans. The pastors sometimes wears a tie and sometimes does not.
God does not have a rule for dress in church, and neither does Hillcrest.
We have childcare for babies through age 2 during our worship services. There is a children's sermon during the worship service, then those who are ages 3 to 11 go to "Children's Church."
We have loving and caring leaders of the children's ministry that will enable your child to grow and learn.
